Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V)

IV&V ensures that our clients are meeting program and project objectives. G&B’s IV&V methodology includes reviews at both the program/project and the system levels. G&B verifies whether individual products and/or processes of a given phase fulfill the established requirements. G&B also evaluates software and applications to ensure they are free from failures and comply with requirements. Our experts verify that the correct systems are being built, and that the systems are being built correctly.

G&B performs quality assurance reviews, analysis, and independent testing to determine if software, applications, and systems comply with requirements. Verifying and validating these basic processes, software, and underlying systems ensure that quality is built into the foundation of a program.

The G&B approach to IV&V is independent of underlying systems implementation and development efforts, yet assists operational benefits through tight integration, including continuous improvement initiatives.

The verification and validation process determines whether the requirements for a system or component are complete and correct, the products of each phase fulfilling the requirements or conditions imposed by the previous phase, and the final systems infrastructure complies with the contracted requirements, thus providing a tool for revalidating results and ensuring due diligence. The G&B approach offers an improved quality assurance process allowing our clients to achieve efficient control of its expenditure and consequent benefit realization. This approach ensures that configuration control and change management policies and procedures are applied and conform to the approved plans and procedures.

Our approach runs in parallel with the systems development life cycle, enabling early detection of missteps and course corrections with minimal impact and at the lowest possible cost; allowing timely implementation of appropriate risk mitigation procedures. G&B has successfully provided IV&V support to many Federal agencies including the Office of Historical Trust Accounting, Department of Housing and Urban Development, and Land Realty Management.
